Overview of commonly used applications

Standard Applications

-Some applications will only be installed if required by your position. Contact your manager/IT if you require additional software to be installed.

-where noted, remote desktop applications run on a remote server and you are provided with a remote desktop connection to use them.

Adobe Reader: PDF reader

Adobe Acrobat: PDF editor 

Bistrack (remote desktop): Connects you to the Epicor hosted environment where you can run the BisTrack ERP application and GP

Bluebeam: PDF markup tool 

Cisco AnyConnect: This is the utility used to connect from a remote location to the corporate network. Requires DUO MFA and authorization for remote access

Dell Command Update: Installed on dell pcs and can be used to download/install the latest updates for dell machines.

DWG TrueView: Allows users to open, view, plot and convert some architectural drawings.

Istruct: Software used in design that does handles I-joists, lumber, walls, rim board, hangers etc.

MBA (remote desktop): For remote Designers/Estimators that need to run MBA. See your manager for more information.

MS Edge: The default web browser installed on your pc. Chrome or others can be installed if required but IT generally only supports Edge.

MS Teams: Web meeting and online collaboration software.

Office 365

  Word: Text editor

  Excel: Spreadsheets

  Outlook: Email application

  PowerPoint: For presentations

  OneNote: Digital note taking

  OneDrive: Similar to DropBox or Google drive. Syncs a folder on your pc to the Microsoft cloud so its available on any computer you sign into. Also provides some file sharing capabilities.

  Publisher: desktop publishing application to create fliers, posters, brochures etc.

Mitek: Software suite used by Design/Estimating to engineer trusses and wall panels.

PlanSwift: TakeOff Software for construction estimating.

Sage Estimating (remote desktop): Connects you to a remote desktop server where Sage Estimating is installed. Takeoff and loose estimating software package. 

WMS: Warehouse Management System Interface
