Add Multi-factor Authentication to your Microsoft account

4.    On your pc, go to https://login.microsoft.com/

5.    Enter your email address and hit next

 

6.    At the more information required screen, click next

 

7.    You should now see the screen below, click “I want to use a different authenticator app”

 

8.    Below screen, click Next

 

9.    In the Duo App on your phone, touch the Use QR Code option.  Scan the QR code with your phone.

  

10.    At the How It Works screen on your phone, click Next

11.    On your phone, you’ll see: Name your account to get your passcode” click next. Click Save at the Name Account Screen.  Optionally you can back up your Duo accounts and go through that process or “disable backup” to continue on without it. You can enable backup later, so we’ll hit “disable backup” for the purposes of this walkthrough.

12.    Account Added Screen – click Next

13.    Improving your experience screen, click turn off.

 

14.    Last screen you should see your Microsoft Account in Duo along with a passcode that automatically refreshes.

15.    On your computer, click Next on QR Code screen.

16.    Enter the Passcode from the Duo App to the Authenticator App screen on your computer.  Then hit next.

 

17.    Provide your phone Number and then click Next

 

18.    Enter code sent via text and click Next.

 

19.    Once SMS verified, click next

 

20.    If successful you can close the browser window. Your MFA setup for Microsoft 365 is complete.
