I had to go through Tech Support for this. Joe was getting this message, which then will not let you measure, markup or overlay pages. It was not the file. He was fine one day and not fine the next.
If users get a message about protected scale in BlueBeam, it is one of two things: a subscription issue or a file issue.
There is probably a problem with the AppData for BlueBeam. To fix it:
- Close Revu 21
- In Windows File Explorer (Windows logo key + E) , navigate to the following file path: C:\Users\Your Windows User Name\AppData\Local\Bluebeam\ .
- AppData is a hidden folder. If you don't see it when you go to the C drive, in File Explorer, go to View > Options > View > Files and Folders > Show hidden files, folder, and drives.
- There will be one folder here, “Revu”. Right-click the Revu folder and select Rename. Add _old to the end of the file name.
- Reopen Revu and login.
BlueBeam’s customer support number is 866-492-2140 if you ever need it (it isn’t on their site).
